Preparing for Your Tattoo Removal

  1. Avoid direct sun exposure to the treatment area, this includes tanning beds and topical tanning products to the treatment area for a period of four weeks prior and four weeks after the scheduled treatment. If for whatever reason the treatment area is in direct sun exposure during that period of time, be sure to apply a minimum of SPF 50 to the treatment area that contains a minimum of 8% zinc oxide as an active ingredient.

  2. If there is hair present to the treatment area it is recommended to shave the night prior to treatment.

  3. A tattoo must be fully healed prior to starting any laser sessions for laser tattoo removal (2-3 months post tattoo session).

  4. Cool compress may be applied to the treatment area 10-15 minutes prior to the treatment.

  5. Avoid pain and anti-inflammatory medications such as Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Naproxen, and Aspirin 3-7 days prior to the treatment.
